On 24 November 2010, we will organise an interactive labour law workshop titled ‘Personnel Handbook’ at our office in Amsterdam. Our many years of experience with foreign clients have led us to believe that there is a need for a practical introduction to Dutch labour law. This workshop will focus mainly on the prevention of employment related legal issues. We will discuss the importance of applying company rules and instructions and the positive effects of a Personnel Handbook. The emphasis will be on the content of a Personnel Handbook and on its drafting to introduce or maintain strict rules on, for example, employee absenteeism and sick leave, reporting sick, the use of e-mail, internet and social media, the use of a company telephone or a company car, misconduct and or representation.
