21 april 2016: Russell Advocaten @ Art & Finance Conference Deloitte / Van Gogh Museum

Publication date 24 March 2016

On 21 April 2016, Paul W.L. Russell, LL.M. will be industry expert panel member of the 9th Art & Finance Conference of Deloitte co-organized with the Van Gogh Museum, that will take place at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.

The unprecedented development of the art market over the past few years has resulted in the ‘financialization’ of the art market. Fine art is now not only seen as an object of pleasure but also as a new alternative asset class providing interesting business opportunities.

As a lawyer, Paul W.L. Russell has many decades of experience with art-related cases. On the panel, he will mainly deal with the protection of the integrity of fine art collections from potential threats, such as forgery, theft and war-looted art. The Art & Finance Conference is organized each year for collectors and managers of fine art collections, such as affluent private individuals, foundations and institutional investors.

Other important topics of the Conference will cover how to make a collection of fine art more visible, why and how to turn your fine art collection into a working asset, and how to transfer a fine art collection to the next generation(s).

The Art & Finance Conference is organized in cooperation with the Van Gogh Museum. The programme will finish with a guided tour through the Van Gogh Museum and drinks.
